At Toothport, we take our time with every checkup appointment so you never feel rushed. You will have time to ask questions and understand your treatment options before making any decisions. You'll leave with a clear, personalized plan, not just a pamphlet.

In Short
  • A full exam of your teeth, gums, and bite
  • Professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar
  • Gum health and oral cancer screening
  • Time to ask questions and understand your options
  • CDCP accepted, most insurance billed directly

What is included in a comprehensive exam at Toothport Dental Centre?

A comprehensive exam covers a visual check of every tooth and the gums, a gum health assessment, and an oral cancer screening. Digital X-rays are taken when clinically needed, and your dentist walks you through the findings before recommending anything further.

How is the cleaning different from the exam?

The exam checks for problems. The cleaning removes plaque and tartar buildup that a toothbrush cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and finishes with a polish. Most appointments combine both in a single visit.

Who should book a comprehensive exam and cleaning?

Anyone due for a regular checkup, new patients without recent dental records, and patients managing early gum concerns. Toothport also uses this appointment for a child's first checkup.

How much does an exam and cleaning cost?

The cost of an exam is set, but the cost of a cleaning is based on the patient's needs. Toothport follows the recommended fee guide set out by the Ontario Dental Association (ODA).

Does insurance cover a comprehensive exam and cleaning?

Most insurance plans cover routine exams and cleanings at some level, and Toothport accepts the Canadian Dental Care Program. Whenever possible, an estimate is sent ahead of your appointment so you can verify your coverage.
