What is the difference between a dental implant, a crown, and a bridge?
A crown caps a damaged tooth that still has a healthy root. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the natural teeth on either side. An implant replaces the tooth root with a titanium post placed in the jawbone, which a crown then attaches to.
What are inlays and onlays?
Inlays and onlays are custom-made restorations used when a tooth has more damage than a filling can repair but does not need a full crown. Your dentist will recommend the option that suits the tooth.
When is a root canal needed?
A root canal is recommended when the inner part of a tooth becomes infected or inflamed. The treatment removes the affected tissue so the tooth can be kept and protected, often with a crown afterwards.
What denture options does Toothport offer?
Toothport provides partial dentures for patients missing some teeth and complete dentures for patients missing all of the teeth in an arch. Your dentist will go over which option fits your situation.
Does insurance cover restorative treatment?
Many insurance plans cover some or all of restorative care. Toothport sends a pre-determination (benefit verification) for all procedures, so you know what to expect before treatment begins.
